Winter Shelter Program

The Winter Sanctuary Program operated by Rancho Cordova HART provides temporary overnight shelter and essential services for adults experiencing homelessness in Rancho Cordova during the coldest months of the year. This seasonal program ensures that no one in our community is left outside in dangerous winter conditions.

Program Dates

The Winter Sanctuary Program operates from January 11 through February 21.

​

Intake Location & Schedule

Guests check in each evening at the Winter Sanctuary intake site located at:

2722 Dawes Street, Suite B, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670

  • Intake begins: 5:00 PM, Transportation departs: 5:30 PM

  • Morning drop-off: 7:00 AM the following morning (back at the intake site)

Services Provided

Winter Sanctuary offers a safe, warm, and welcoming environment, along with:

  • A secure indoor place to sleep overnight

  • Dinner and morning meal

  • Restrooms and handwashing stations

  • Connections to housing, healthcare, and support services through local outreach partners and the Rancho Cordova Navigator

The program is designed to be low-barrier and trauma-informed, prioritizing dignity, safety, and accessibility.

Community Partnership

Winter Sanctuary is made possible through partnerships with local churches, volunteers, community organizations, and the City of Rancho Cordova. Each week, a faith community opens its doors to host guests, while volunteers provide meals, hospitality, and overnight support. A local housing navigator attends weekly to help guests connect to longer-term housing and supportive resources.
